Our ancestors in the dim and distant past lacked one thing above all: knowledge of Latin!
For millennia they waited idly and impatiently for the invention that would free them from their ignorance:
the Gymnasium am Münsterplatz!

Situated in the middle of the old town centre, opposite the minster, the Gymnasium am Münsterplatz (GM) is in an attractive location. A short walk takes you to the shopping and business area in the city centre, and the historic buildings and museums are right on our doorstep.

It is the oldest purpose-built school building in Basel. For more than a thousand years Latin has been learnt and taught in the shadow of the minster.
