Special regulation during the epidemic of plague

During the epidemic of plague in 1582, the Regency, with the consent of the Great Council, ordered the schoolmasters to teach only one hour in the morning because of the rampant plague,

  • Whom the parents kept at home should not be punished.
  • Those who had contracted the plague themselves or lived in a house with victims of the plague had to stay away from school for a month
