Library's regulations
The media library of the Gymnasium am Münsterplatz offers a fine and extensive, constantly actualized selection of classic and modern literature as well as electronic media and web resources to students and to teachers thus supporting and enriching the quality of teaching at our school.
Opening times Monday - Friday 07.45-16.30 Uhr
In the lecture-free period (holidays) the media library remains closed

The media library is a work area and therefore a quiet zone.
There are more Workplaces available in the corridors in front of the classrooms (Building A: ground floor, Building B: 1st and 2nd floor). Except the lunchtime (11.30 a.m.-1.30 p.m.) the canteen tables as well as the tables in the GM yards may be used for working.
Coats, bags and backpacks must be deposited outside the media library. Lockers in three buildings are available to the students' use.
Phone calls as well as food and drinks are not permitted inside the media library. Students can eat and drink in desginated picnic Areas. The media library and the classrooms are both food and drink-free zones.
Due diligence
Users are responsible for the care of all lent media and Laptops.
Lending of media
For the lending of books and other media you Need your student Card, which you can also "load" with money in order to photocopy/print at the public printers as well as for the GM cafeteria.
Lost cards will be replaced at a cost of CHF 20.-. Please contact Mr. J. Trinkler (Julian.Trinkler@edubs.ch)

Media acquisition wishes If you wuold like the media library to acquire a media that could be of interest for students, don't hesitate to tell our librarian.
Laptops are available for work within the School and can only be reserved by staff members . The laptops can be used for a maximum of one day under the supervision of a teacher and must be returned to the media library by 4.20 p.m..
The laptops are issued only with the permission of a teacher and upon presenting a library user card. Without the explicit permission of a teacher, no laptops are issued to students.
Media deposit As in all other Gymnasiums in Basel-Stadt, students pay a deposit of CHF 100.- für the use of all media at the GM (loanable media, material, Laptops). This deposit will be refunded to the pupils once they leave school, provided that all media have been returned undamaged.
For the reimbursement of the media depot when you leave the school, please use the reimbursement form, which can be downloaded from this page.
