At the beginning of year one we continue working with the English textbooks the students bring from the OS, New Snapshot Starter, to make sure everyone is on the same level and to teach the basics of English grammar and vocabulary. We work with the Student's Book, the Workbook and the Glossary.

New Snapshot Online Practice

The main coursebook for the first and second year at the Gymnasium is the New English File Pre-Intermediate. We work with the student's book and the workbook for additional exercises. The students will get the student's book from the library, of the workbook everyone gets a private copy. The vocabulary lists will be handed out by the teacher. The coursebook New English File is used to develop the skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.

New English File Pre-Intermediate Online Practice

From year three to five we don't work with a set coursebook anymore. The main focus is on reading literature and on developing our speaking and writing skills. The students however are expected to learn more vocabulary with the Langenscheidt Grundwortschatz Englisch. This vocabulary the students are expected to know for the English Matura Exams.
The Langenscheidt Grundlagenwortschatz Englisch is also available as e-book (pdf) or as audio-file for CD- or MP3-players.
